Owner/Director of Education
Instructor Bohrer entered the fire service as an explorer with Tequesta Fire Rescue in 1999, and also with Palm Beach County Fire Rescue in 2000. In 2002, Instructor Bohrer became a volunteer with Tequesta Fire Rescue and was hired in 2003 as a firefighter/EMT. In 2004, he was hired by the City of Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue where he served as a driver engineer and retired with over 13 years. In 2006, Instructor Bohrer started a medical training company and became employed at the local state college where he taught CPR, advanced medical training, and FLUSAR Vehicle Machinery Rescue (VMR) Operations and Technician courses. He became a state-certified Fire Instructor I in 2007 and began performing and continuing his fire training education through the local fire academy. In 2008, he obtained his Live Fire Training Instructor (LFTI) state certification. In 2015, Instructor Bohrer received his Fire Officer II certification and began performing company officer duties. Again in 2015, Instructor Bohrer had an article published online at Fire Engineering entitled “Chemical Suicide Awareness” and he was able to travel abroad to deliver lectures on this subject matter. He has attended many seminars and conferences throughout Florida, both as a student and as an instructor; he is also a National Fire Academy instructor for the course titled, “Courtroom and Testimony Preparation for First Responders.” He also holds a Technician level certification in all disciplines of Technical Rescue (VMR, Confined Space, Trench Rescue, Rope Rescue, and Structural Collapse) as well as an A.S. degree from Palm Beach State College in Emergency Medical Services. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration from Indian River State College and received Fire Instructor II certification from the State of Florida in 2014. In 2017 (after retiring from Palm Beach Gardens Fire Rescue), Instructor Bohrer, began employment with another fire department in South Florida where he currently holds the rank of Firefighter. His training passions are for hazmat, Toxmedic, engine company operations, forcible entry, hybrid and new vehicle technologies, VMR, firefighter survival, and rapid intervention crew (RIC) operations. In 2012, Instructor Bohrer, with the help of Instructor Chris Davis, created Hazmat & Advanced Training Solutions, LLC to offer the highest quality of training to the fire service community.
Lead Hazmat Instructor
Instructor Davis entered the fire service as an Explorer with Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue in 1997. He rode on the Special Operations Units at Firehouse 31 in Lake Worth. He also won Rookie of the Year honors on his first year and Explorer of the Year honors in 2000-2001. In 2006, Instructor Davis began his career with a South Florida fire department and at his current department, he served as a member of the Hazardous Material Team and functioned as a Field Training Officer. He has instructed EMT and Paramedic school at Florida Medical Training Institute from 2007-2012. In 2011, he became state-certified as Fire Instructor and a Hazmat Technician Instructor with the International Association of Firefighters (IAFF). Instructor Davis has also been State Certified Hazardous Materials Technician since 2009, as well as a Toxmedic. Instructor Davis’s ambition has also led him to become a Toxmedic Instructor through the Advanced Hazmat Life Support (AHLS). In February of 2013, he was promoted to the position of Fire Lieutenant (Company Officer) with his current fire department. Instructor Davis also holds an A.S. Degree in EMS Management and Fire Science from FMTI and Saint Petersburg College. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Safety Administration from Saint Petersburg College and Fire Instructor 2 certification from the State of Florida. Throughout his tenure in the fire service, Instructor Davis has multiple unit citations and was honored as firefighter of the month in August of 2010.
